Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Albany Wooden Tennis Racquet Association

Playing with a wooden racquet takes patience, skill and a sense of humor (as you get used to the itty-bitty sweet spot). Without the overwhelming power delivered by modern equipment it's a whole new ball game (even though you will be playing with a really old racquet).

Besides being good ol' fashioned fun,  wooden racquet play also promotes longer rallies and a wider assortment of shots. Playing with this type of racquet is a fun and unique challenge.

Join us for monthly casual, drop-in play as well as possible tournaments. All levels, from beginners to pros, are welcome and wooden racquets are available for rent.  We will be playing at Memorial Park and the first meeting date and time is to be announced.  Membership is free. $6 to play and $2 to rent a wooden racquet.

Hope to see you on the court!
