Connect with Albany Online: The Resource Guide

There are tons of ways to stay in touch with neighbors and other residents. Know some we missed? Email me, or add them in the comments.

The city has compiled this awesome list of local resources for staying informed, and said we could share it on Albany Patch. It's been in several of the city's activity guides, though it wasn't in the most recent one. I missed it, and thought you might have too. I added a few of my own finds as well -- don't be shy to share your own in the comments! I will update this as new resources arise.

NEIGHBORHOOD LINKS

Join a community or neighborhood group, or start your own! Yahoo and Google groups are a great resource for keeping up with neighbors, planning a block party or finding people with similar interests.

Already have a group and want to list it, or need help starting-up a group? Email Chelle Putzer. Have questions about Neighborhood Watch? E-mail Karina Tindol.

FACEBOOK

I like to think of Albany Patch's Facebook page as a community bulletin board. You can find our stories on there, and also post directly to the page if you have thoughts and ideas to share.

There are also lots of local businesses and resources on Facebook. Here are some I've found.

Everybody makes mistakes ... even us! If there's something in this article you think should be corrected, or if something else is amiss, give editor Emilie Raguso a ring at 510-459-8325 or shoot her an email at emilier@patch.com.

About this column: Here you'll find the best of Albany Patch (as long as it doesn't appear in another column!).
