Fumiyo Yoshikawa Brings an Ancient Japanese Art to Albany

With her Introduction to Japanese Brush Painting class at the Albany Community Center, Fumiyo Yoshikawa teaches art that's good for the soul.

Fumiyo Yoshikawa was born in Kyoto, Japan, where she studied calligraphy, drawing, and the traditional artform nihonga (Japanese-style paintings). She lives in Albany now, but continues to practice her art using the same tools and materials that have been part of the art in Japan for centuries.
