Albany Drummer Keeps The Beat For Loretta Lynch (Launch Party Coming!)

A little sweet, a little smart and slightly wicked. That's what Loretta Lynch calls Americana Noir. The band will celebrate the release of its new CD, Home Fires, at Freight & Salvage on Nov. 4.

Loretta Lynch calls its genre Americana Noir -- what you might get if Loretta Lynn met David Lynch. The band combines serious musicianship with a healthy dose of irreverent humor. When guitarist Dan Olmsted couldn't make this rehearsal, the group found a way around it. Members are (left to right) Ari Fellows-Mannion (vocals, guitar, bass and mandolin), Nathan Moy (drums), Dan Olmsted's picture (electric and acoustic guitars), Heather Davison (vocals and percussion) and Val Esway (vocals, bass and guitar).
