This week's OPC makes me really happy for some reason.

For some reason there were two London cabs parked the other day on Sacramento in Berkeley, about where that overzealous bird house guy usually parks his trucks exhibiting his wares. Hadn't seen any of those since... London.

Another old (but not so old) parked car seen on my perambulations... does anyone know what the story is with the VW Rabbit embedded within at least 3-4 years of shrub growth in a driveway off Colusa just south of Thousand Oaks in Berkeley?

A beautiful dark green Falcon, owned by a U of O Duck fan, is often parked on Masonic, right next to the library.

I have some information on several of the cars you have featured, the faded yellow care is a 1967 ford galaxy 500 and is owned by a born and raised albanian who lives on san gabriel and actually the car is for sale see craigslist if interested (listed as a 65).

I have also submitted some photos to you of a car on the one thousand block of talbot that I can get a story on if you like

Hello, YES, let's bring back an Albany Car Show. I have contacted Winkie Campbell of the Albany Chamber of Commerce. I would also like to get together with other car enthusiasts for Cars and Coffee. Bring your own coffee and car. The southeast corner of El Cerrito Plaza might be a good location. Save for a couple of old RVs it seems to be unused. This would be a totally impromptu Sunday morning get together. How about the second Sunday from 9am to 11am weather permitting. No burn-outs, loud music or open headers.

I love the Chevy Bel Air. I'm guessing it's a 56? I've been walking past it on Talbot for years going back and forth to Cornell School with my son. I'd totally be all over an Albany classic (and somewhat classic) car show. Albany definitely has more than it's fair share.

1955 Chevy Bel Air belongs to Dave Johnson and family.

There's a beautiful red vintage truck that's almost always parked on Garfield just west of Talbot. Don't know enough about cars to tell you what year, but it's gorgeous.

The 'Classic if somewhat forlorn' BMW belongs to my wonderful neighbor, whose identity shall remain undisclosed unless he wants to chime in. Suffice it to say, he LOVES this car. Beyond that, it's a mystery to me.

I'm partial to 65-'67 VW bugs...a woman owns one on Acton near Ada that I covet.

Every Thursday there is a car get together at 23rd and Market after work.
Every other Friday 7/15/2011 at the Hercules Home Depot there is a car get together.
Telegraph and 22nd St @ the Giant Hamburger car gathering is 2nd Friday evening.

I've got some iron on the street and would love to show in Albany; let's do it in the Plaza ! Kensington Chevron had a great car show in April.

I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to our house tomorrow by Fedex. How did the car show go??

The car rendezvous was well attended by about a dozen cars due to the fair weather of the day. Numerous visitors and passing cars shared a few moments of their day to stop and or wave. Peggy came and will probably share a few photos she took.

Are we still on for Sunday with the rain coming in all weekend?

With the rain forecast through the weekend, it is likely the event won't happen but if there is a break in the weather at 1 pm on Sunday, I will be there to say hi. Me and the car are rain proof and the air is so nice when it has been raining.

Nice to see a few new participants and nine cars considering the cold and wetness but we did get a break in the rain. There is continued interest to have another get together with the longer days coming our way.
