"11:43 a.m. An orange car was reported missing from Evelyn Avenue."

This entry links to a missing cat, not a car, and while the loss of a pet is tragic and heartbreaking, is this really the job of the police?

Oops -- thanks -- definitely a CAT! (I'll fix this now.)
I imagine I would alert them if I lost a pet. They're driving around day and night so they are in a good position to keep an eye out.

I don't understand why people report turkeys to the police. Are the police supposed to arrest them?

Perhaps, if it's a traffic hazard, just to let them know in case they need to clear them? Just a guess.

I spent the first 20 years of my life in Albany the Family home on Santa Fe still brings so many fantastic memories when I pass it on the way to the cemetery in El Cerrito. I really enjoy the Albany Patch as Albany will always be my hometown. As I read the Police blotter calls it struck me how we know times have changed but I bet it would be interesting if records were kept to see what the police blotter would say in the 1940's or 50's when I graduated from Albany High School. As Teenagers the boys in school had a great relationship with the Albany Police dept, it wasn't unusual to see a patrol car surronded by guys from school joking, laughing with the Officer. What a fantastic place to be raised, Albany Ca. The Best. Thanks for the touch of home in the Albany Patch. Ellen Smith
