National Parks are inspiring and beautiful. It's a stretch, don't ya think, to put Albany in thatRead More category?

Nothing is too much of a stretch when it comes to Albany politics.

Jim, Do we get to wear the traditional costume of Albany, and eat the traditional foods? Will weRead More demonstrate lawn mowing, sidewalk hosing, and SUV driving to the Safeway? I want to visit the Variance Approval exhibit about turning a two or three bedroom house into a two or three bedroom house with stairs and a media room.

Weddings aren't cheap. What can a to-be-married couple do with that $20K? They can use it for a downRead More payment on a house. Kick start their retirement savings. Start saving for their kids' college educations. Buy cars. Repair the house. Boost their Emergency Fund. OR, They can have a four hour party.

I would be more understanding of such a huge outlay of money if people actually stayed married, butRead More alas, people don't anymore. It really is just a four hour party. Look at all the time and resources squandered.

I agree with both of you.

If a woman is hot, any perfume she wears smells good. If she's gross, then any perfume will nauseateRead More you. Besides, the average person couldn't tell a $100/oz bottle of perfume from RAID or Black Flag.

Did you seriously just post an ad with a pretty Russian girl offering the most "bang for yourRead More buck". ? "Enjoys swimming", long walks on the beach, etc..Wow. what are we selling again,? I forgot....

Agree with comments of Novato 3per. Language such as "lovely Natalia" and "check outRead More cute pics" detract from the professionalism of candidates.

Well, that is certainly not my goal. My interpretation and context is definitely quite differentRead More from your view. Greatly different. I think it is quite professoinal. I take my role as the local representative very seriously, and love working with the girls and very proud of my cute pictures on my blog. This program is tighly run and overseen by the US Dept of State (key word is overseen as we are a designated agency since 1989). The program is set up to enhance cultural relations and there are hundreds of young adults around the world wanting to experience American culture and customs. I take my role and this program very seriously, and the context of my blog post is trying to convey that. I will not let what I see as negative trash talk lessen the goal of this blog post or the mission of this program. It is with high regard that I present this program to the Bay Area and we are very proud to do so. Please don't take my words out of context. Contact me directly with quesions or concerns as the negative view of your interpretataion is greatly taken out of context and I refuse to let this program or my Au Pairs be seen in that light. Thank you.

“As the finite sense of Deity, based on material conceptions of spiritual being, yields itsRead More grosser elements, we shall learn what God is, and what God does.” Is it just me or does it seem that so many that claim to study theology and 'god' in general love to speak in their version of tongues? The statement above seems just as absurd as much of the made up psychobabble religious folks spew. What's really sad is when I hear a young person full of positive thoughts and talent and success going out of their way to thank some fabricated 'god' for their success. How sad that they are so brainwashed by others at such an early age. You can live a good honest life, care about others, be successful, raise a family and contribute to society in a positive way all without clouding your thoughts with made up human religious gibberish. If there is a 'god' he/she/it must laugh at the ability of the human mind to fabricate their own version of reality. Hey let's all go out and howl to that full moon god huh! Perhaps that will make it all better. Lemmings.

Hmmm. Let's ask the Swedes whether or not one needs God to have a healthy (or moral) life. TheRead More most atheistic people on the planet are also about the healthiest. They can also find other country on maps, haven't started a war in a couple of hundred of years, and take care of their poor people, something that Jesus would certainly take a shine to. Weird, huh? That being said, as long as people don't substitute a belief in God for actual medical treatment, I do think that studies demonstrate that people who have healthy relationships in communities are healthier. In the U.S., that often means religious communities.
