A day on, not a day off

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., consider making Jan. 21 a day on, not a day off!

Join the Alameda County Community Food Bank as we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during our 4th annual Day of Service!

You can make Jan. 21 and beyond a "day on, not a day off!" Here are two ways we need your help:

  • Volunteer in our warehouse: There's a lot of work to do, with fresh produce and food drive collections pouring in! Click here to register for a date in January or the coming weeks.

  • Donate to our MLK food and fund drives! Despite a windfall from holiday food drives, the Food Bank is in need of quality, non-perishable protein items. We're asking specifically for donations of canned tuna and other meats, and peanut butter (but all donations are welcome!) Please drop donations off at the Food Bank (7900 Edgewater Drive in Oakland) between 9 a.m. and noon.

Or help us purchase our most-needed items by donating to our MLK Day virtual food drive. We'll distribute $4 worth of food for every $1 you donate!

Our work is only possible with your support throughout the year. Thank you.
