Albany Beach ring was lost during Vietnam era

Some people wondered if we ever found the owner of a ring that was plucked out of the sand on Albany Beach about three weeks ago. Yes, thanks to the investigative skills of several beach-goers, a high school alumni group in St. Louis, a Facebook bulletin board, and the ring's owner's sister-in-law (who noticed the FB posting). The young woman who owned the ring had given her 1970 Mercy High School ring to her beau when he headed out into the Vietnam War about 40 years ago. He lost it... maybe on Albany Beach? We may never know that part. He was mostly stationed up and down the coast of California, though. The woman still lives  near St. Louis and is thrilled to be getting the ring back. It should be in her mailbox tomorrow!
