Every year since John and Norma Gray moved to the family home at 1337 Sacramento Street in 1955, neighbors and passersby on foot and waiting at the stoplight down the street await the classic Christmas decorations that go up on the Gray's house near the corner of Hopkins Street. All the decorations were made by John, a Berkeley native, who passed away in January 2006. Norma and several of her ten children make sure John's tradition continues. In spite of the rain and bitter cold on Saturday, December 15, and one decorator's foot going right through the roof, the decorations went up and by nightfall were shining for all to enjoy! Norma commented, "Dad would be proud!"
