As moves along in the final four weeks of the school year, students are busy with academics, athletics, concerts, prom, and more.
On Friday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium, dance students under the direction of Ms. Nives Cediel will perform in the annual Spring Dance Concert. The school's instrumental music and choral students will hold their Spring concert on Friday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium, directed by Mr. Matt Ferreira and Mr. Chris Trinidad. The community is invited to attend. Both concerts are free.
The AP Art Student Exhibit continues through May 8, and AP exams begin tomorrow. Graduation practice has begun for seniors, and juniors and seniors are looking forward to prom on May 19.
Next week is Founder's Week at Saint Mary's, honoring the life and work of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the De La Salle Christian Brothers and creator of the Lasallian educational tradition in 1680 Reims, France.
The week will culminate with the annual Founder's Day Mass on Friday morning, May 18, followed by lunch, activities, and yearbook distribution. At the Mass, fifteen faculty and staff members will receive "Years of Service" awards, ranging from five years to thirty-five years teaching/working at Saint Mary's. The annual Lasallian Educator of the Year and Lasallian Student of the Year awards will also be distributed.
Saint Mary's looks forward next year to the school's 150th anniversary.
