Good News from Saint Mary's

As students prepare for two days of term exams on Thursday and Friday, there's much going on at Peralta Park ahead of the Thanksgiving Week break.  Thanks to all who supported the Fall Music Concert last Friday, and congratulations to the Panther Girls on a terrific Cross Country season and their recent championship.  Open House for prospective students and their families is this Sunday, November 24, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  Use of BART to North Berkeley or AC Transit (#25A or 25B) to Monterey and Hopkins is encouraged.  The Student Fundraiser for tuition assistance and other student life initiatives is making great strides!  Students have themselves raised over $300,000 for this cause over the past ten years.  Saint Mary's SALT (Social Action - Lasallian Team) will be busy during the Advent Season in December with three important service projects.  A men's sock drive will support the Berkeley Catholic Worker Center; a coat drive will provide warmth for those in need at Saint Anthony's shelter in San Francisco; and a toiletries drive will benefit visitors to the St. Vincent de Paul Center in Downtown Oakland.  Want to help out?  Contact Saint Mary's faculty member Ms. Clare McCormick at cmccormick@stmchs.org.  We appreciate the support of the local community in these efforts.  Happy Thanksgiving from Saint Mary's College High School.
