Calling Local Artists – Albany Community Center Gallery Invites Applications

The Albany Arts Committee invites entries from local artists for the rotating art shows in the foyer gallery of the Albany Community Center. The deadline for the upcoming year is Aug. 30. Four shows of about three months each are hung each year.

The Albany Arts Committee seeks applications from local artists for art to go on exhibit in the foyer gallery of the Albany Community Center.

The foyer walls host four art shows by local artists each year, and the selection of the artists for each upcoming year is done by the Arts Committee at its September meeting. Each exhibit runs for about three months.

"We are looking for entries right now because we have less entries than we have had in past years," said Liam Kelly of the city's recreation projects team. Kelly serves as city liaison to the Arts Committee.

The deadline for entries is Aug. 30. A description of the gallery and instructions for applying can be found on the city's website.

Currently on exhibit to Sept. 2 is a show called "Water," featuring paintings by Donna Fenstermaker.
