Biking and Walking.

In Albany or close by walk/ ride west on Marin Ave which becomes Buchanan at San Pablo Ave. At Pierce street look for signs for the pedestrian/ bike pathway and proceed  on the overpass over the RR tracks. Then you will see signs for 2 possible  routes to cross under the freeway-one  straight ahead and the other looping to the right but safer. Once you are on the other side heading west you enter the Albany Waterfront Trail  ( along the road Buchanan  St. extension ) which passes by the mud flats w/ beautiful water birds and then to the left passes north of Golden Gate Fields. Over half a mile later you will arrive at a sign for the continuation of the Waterfront Trail which is the entrance to the Albany Bulb. Proceed and then turn left to the small beach where the event will be.

Biking from Berkeley

There are several routes and contact us for details. One would be to take the Ohlone bike / walk trail heading northwest from north Berkeley and either arriving at Marin Ave and following the above directions or turning west on Gilman and then either turning north on 8th street which becomes Jackson in Albany Village then turning west on Marin, proceeding as above. Alternately you could continue on Gilman crossing under the freeway ( not a great intersection ) and continue west until you can turn right  ( north ) on the road which goes through the GoldenGate Fields and arriving through the parking lot at the northwest corner where the beach is. Also you could come across the pedestrian/ bike  bridge near University Ave, and head north along the eastshore path on the west side of 80/ 580, then turning left on Gilman and proceeding as just above

Bus / BART

The AC Transit bus 25  from downtown berkeley arrives at Pierce and Buchanan and from there it is a .6 mile walk as described above. From No Berkeley BART one could then take the Ohlone trail on bike as above.

Driving / Carpooling

From the freeway ( 80 /580 ) take the Albany or Buchanan exit and immediately turn west toward the SF Bay  proceeding along the Buchanan extension as described above. There is parking along the fence by the race track.
