What's Open, What's Closed for the Holidays

Holiday schedules in and near Albany.

Here are holiday schedules locally:

Albany city offices: Closed Dec. 24-30 and Jan. 1. Offices will be open on Dec. 31. 

Albany Unified School District: Winter break, Dec. 24-Jan. 4. 

Albany public library: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Closes at 6 p.m. Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

Garbage service: No garbage pick-up Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Residents whose normal pick-up day is Tuesday through Friday will have service delayed by one day; normal Friday service will be on Saturday.

Alameda County offices, Alameda County Superior Court: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

State of California offices, federal offices: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Banks: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Stores, businesses: Varies.

The Albany Post Office will be closing at noon on December 24th and December 31st.

The Albany Library is open on December 24, Christmas Eve until 6 p.m. The Albany Library is also open on December 31, New Year's Eve until 6 p.m. Happy Holidays!

Playland Not at the Beach in El Cerrito is OPEN 6 EXTRA DAYS TO PLAY for winter break. Closed Christmas Day. Open Dec 23, 24,26-Jan 1, including a Grown-Ups ONLY Evening Thurs, Dec 27 and a Family Friendly New Year's December 31. We are also a GREAT PLACE to VOLUNTEER if you need some volunteer hours for school, especially if you were supposed to have the hours done by the end of the year :).
