Join In: Add Your Albany Photos to our Flickr Group

If you're a Flickr user, the easiest way to share your photographs about town with Albany Patch may be to add them to our Flickr group. Join the group at http://www.flickr.com/groups/albanypatch. Not yet a member? It's free to join!

We know Albany has a ton of talented shooters, and we're always looking for ways to feature their work.

In this vein, we created a Flickr group to make it easier for you to post photos that we can highlight. We'll select a new item to feature each week.

Adding your photo to our group is simple; all you need is a free Flickr account. This is a great way for you to post breaking news photos and other stand-out shots you take around town—of moments that inspire you, or community events such as the .

Our group has hundreds of images from more than 40 members, and we'll be finding ways to grow these numbers in the coming months.

Please Note: You maintain full rights to your work, but adding your photos to the group gives us the ability to share them on Patch. Images will always be credited to you, and will link back to your Flickr page.

That's a fun idea. There are also great photos in the general Albany group, http://www.flickr.com/groups/albanycalifornia/

Yes -- that's a great one. Do you have any info about how that started?

You'd have to ask the admin, CoastRanger. Here's a photo of him at the bulb: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jef/3146336442/in/photosof-coastranger/ From the dates of the oldest photos it looks like the group has been around since summer 2005.

Oh, cool -- I hadn't gotten that far. He and I actually just recently made contact. He's a fantastic photographer.
