When Does School Start in Albany?
If you're wondering when Albany's youngsters will be summoned back to school this year, the answer is Aug. 27, though Albany High has earlier "new student orientation" and "opening" days.
The first day of public school in Albany is Tuesday, Aug. 27, according to the Albany Unified School District.
Albany High will hold a new student orientation on Wednesday, August 21, from 9-10 a.m., and an opening day and freshmen orientation on Monday, Aug. 26, according to the school calendar.
Also, the high school has a new website address this year: http://ahs.ausdk12.org.
Friday, Aug. 23, and Monday, Aug. 26, are district-wide staff development days, according to the district calendar.
