Solano Stroll Poster Unveiled at Mechanics Bank Party

Thursday night, stroll friends and sponsors shared food and laughter, and saw the 2010 design for the Solano Stroll.

Let the countdown begin. The Solano Stroll, on Sept. 12, will be upon Albany in less then a month. To celebrate, the Solano Avenue Association held its annual kick-off event Thursday night. Dozens of people with a range of connections to the stroll, the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club and other organizations got together to see the new design for the festival, which is expected to draw 300,000 people. The design highlights the neighborhood's international feeling, with flags drawn representing the broad range of nationalities of those who work on Solano.

Since 1974, the merchants, restaurants, and professionals, along with Albany and Berkeley, have hosted the stroll, which claims to be the East Bay's largest street festival. Learn more here.
