32 Requests for Accomodations from Individuals on Bulb

The City of Albany has posted on its website "Top Stories" http://www.albanyca.org/index.aspx?page=18&recordid=2564&returnURL=%2findex.aspx a press release dated Dec 26 with an update about implementation of its Waterfront Park Transition Plan.  Quoting from the press release, "The City recently received 32 “Requests for Accommodations” from homeless individuals camping at the Albany Bulb. The requests state that these individuals are disabled, within the meaning of the Americans with Disabilities Act, due to a variety of physical and mental health conditions. Many of the requests ask that the individuals be allowed to remain at the Albany Bulb until suitable housing can be obtained to meet their particular needs.  Pending a final determination on these accommodation requests, the City has elected to refrain from issuing citations to the affected individuals for certain provisions in our no-camping ordinance or clearing their campsites."
