The Beekeeper's Apprentice brings the master of logic and wit, Sherlock Holmes, into the company of an equally curious and capable teen-age girl, Mary Russell. The pair meet on England's Sussex Downs in 1915, where Holmes has retired to become a Beekeeper.

The young American heiress (and Oxford student!) matures and learns the art of detection from Holmes. Adventure and romance bind young and old together in this unusual mystery.
