Statue of Poverty in California
"Statue of Poverty" Poem by David James Randolph © for MLKing Day
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gate shall stand
A mighty woman without a torch, whose flame is imprisoned lightning
And her name Mother of Exiles, who says to the world
Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free ,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed to me
And we will evict them through the Golden Gate.
For Osha Artist and Amber Waves of Grain on Albany Bulb
Apologies to Emma and the poor. We can do better than this. See albanycommunityfoundation.org, newwaymediafest@blogspot.com
