The first AT&T wireless site in Albany finally went live today at 1035 San Pablo Ave!
After four and half years of struggle, hundreds of hours of wasted time in P&Z and City Council meetings, two Federal lawsuits, and a huge expense for the taxpayers, Albany residents finally have usable AT&T cell service.
I have 4-5 bars in my house now. I disconnected the Microcell. No longer do I have to stand in the street to call the doctor, or speak with a client.
Along with the also-recently-activated Oaks Theater facility in Berkeley and the upcoming Sunnyside Cafe facility due in Spring 2014, the San Pablo site will provide updated LTE coverage to central Albany.
Let's hope there's never again such a wasteful delay in providing basic communications services for Albany residents and visitors.
