After Monday, Bid Farewell to Rain

The National Weather Service forecasts recent rains clearing Monday, with no more rain in the forecast for the rest of the week.

After acting unseasonably reclusive of late, the sun is getting ready to return to the East Bay.

The National Weather Service foresees only a 30-percent chance of showers Monday.

Then, dry weather is expected to return.

The skies will be partly cloudy Monday night, and then we'll have mostly sunny days Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, according the official weather prognosticators.

The temperature will peak around 60 tomorrow and in the mid-60s Tuesday through Thursday, the weather service said.

Blue skies will follow a spell of unusually wet weather for early June.

From 11 a.m. Saturday to 11 a.m. Sunday, the weather service reported that .71 inches of rain fell on Mount Diablo.

The service's automatic gauges also recorded .39 inches in the Dublin/San Ramon area.

Livermore airport recorded .25 inches while Castro Valley saw .16 inches.

The Oakland Airport gauge reported .10 inches.
