Bring Dead Devices to Albany's Fix It Clinic

Bring your broken electronics, appliances, computers, toys, or any other nonfunctional devices for assessment, disassembling and possible repair.

Have a broken, nonfunctional device?

Get free assistance to try and fix it at Albany's Fix It Clinic on Sunday, March 10 at the Albany Community Center (1249 Marin Ave.). The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m.

Folks are encouraged to bring electronics, appliances, computers, toys, or any other dead devices for assessment, disassembling and possible repair.

The center says it will provide"workspace, specialty tools, and guidance to help you disassemble and troubleshoot your item. However, if you have accessories and tools that you already own that might be helpful, you are welcome to bring them.

Cameras are also recommended to document the disassembling and what is found inside the devices. The center also recommends bringing boxes, bags and/or small containers to organize and carry away parts.

If you item cannot be fixed, you will at least learn more about how it was made and how it worked.
