Albany at a Glance: Car Spotting

A powder blue Continental caught my eye Monday evening on Solano Avenue. I swung around for a closer look. Just then, a Valiant pulled up along side it. Just as I'm getting ready to shoot the two-fer, a voice behind me says, "Oh, you like that, eh?" Next thing I know, I am deep in conversation with proud Lincoln owner Erik Eichner. The funny and talkative Mr. Eichner was ecstatic to find someone who liked his Mark V enough to photograph it on the street. I was brought before the rest of the family as evidence of its coolness. Much hilarity ensued.

The pampered Lincoln can occasionally be seen around Albany. Mr. Eichner's business, Eichner Properties is on Solano, and he had just come from dinner at Cafe Raj, which, it turns out, is run by his daughter Rosemarie and her husband Raj. Now if can just trade some photography work for some of that yummy Indian cuisine.
