From Way Back: Crossing Guard Bea Besette in 1977

A new Facebook page featuring Albany memories has been very active in recent weeks.

A Facebook group commemorating Albany's past has been jam-packed with activity in August, as participants turn back the clock to the city and people they remember.

Member Craig Haney shared this photograph with the group on Aug. 18, with the following caption, in response to the prompt "You know you're from Albany when...": "When  was your crossing guard at Santa Fe and Marin. I believe this picture was taken in 1977. Left to Right: Me (Craig Haney), Edwin Lim, Tamara Lockwood, and Kim Etzel. Of course I'm representing Raider Nation and Ken Stabler."

The photograph has been shared here with permission. Haney added that "not this exact picture, but one from the shoot, was used in a school textbook and was also in the Images of America: Albany book (page 114)."
