Video: Sweeter Than Summer
A watermelon-eating contest was one of the highlights of Fourth of July in Albany.
Residents and their voracious appetites took the stage during Albany's July 4th celebration at Memorial Park on Sunday. Competing in divisions according to age, more than three dozen contestants were pitted against each other to see who could reduce slices of watermelon to their rinds the fastest. The quickest three in each group won small cash prizes.
