Weekend Things: Healthy Living, Yo-Yo Masters, the Great Albany Bike Race and More
This weekend attend a senior resource fair, catch Hawaiian tunes, dig for treasures, help restore a creek, learn yo-yo tricks and watch bicyclists, young and old, ride around Memorial Park for glory, prizes and, most of all, a great time.
FRIDAY
What do seniors and the Oakland Zoo have in common? The eighth Annual Healthy Living Festival, of course! This event is put on every year by the United Seniors of Oakland and Alameda County will feature health screens, financial planning information and many other resources for seniors.

When: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Grab lunch at Sushi Solano on Friday and you'll be treated to the music of Jim Romano, who plays traditional and contemporary Hawaiian song on guitar. Some are covers, many are original, and all will provide the perfect soundtrack to a sunny summer lunch.

SATURDAY
The students and instructors of Golden Lion Martial Arts School will be holding a rummage sale to raise funds for the school. Come find your treasure and find out more about tai chi and kung fu classes for kids and adults.

Help keep up the great work they've been doing at Codornices Creek by coming out for a work party. The creek and pathway can be restored so that people and trout can enjoy it and thrive.

SUNDAY
If you're finding yourself glued to the Tour de France, you'll want to get out to see Albany's own bicycle races around Memorial Park. There will be several sprints, a free kids' bike race at noon and prizes for participants. Some of the proceeds from participation fees will be donated to the .
