What brought you to Albany on this overcast day? We were at a soccer clinic at Ocean View School, organized through the Albany Community Center. The park really brought us here; we haven't been here in ages.

Do you see the same people here whenever you come to the park? I've known about this park for 15 years, but I started coming here about eight years ago, after my daughter was born. We'd come all the time before my daughter started kindergarten. We'd always run into people we knew, whether they lived in El Cerrito or Albany, especially when El Cerrito was having all of its parks redone; this park was close by. We used to come to "Music in the Park" in September, on Thursdays, but it's harder now, with school the next day.

How do you like our weather? I am not a fan! I'm from southern California, and this is just not summertime – this is freezing!

What do you think of Albany? I think Albany is a great city. It's small, and you really grow in a sense of community when you have school-age kids. El Cerrito is a small city, but it's part of a huge school district; Albany is a small city, but it has its own school district. That makes a difference; everywhere you go, to the park or grocery store or library, you run into people that you know.

If you could, what would you change about Albany? Albany is an interesting place. Because of the school district, homes are more expensive, so it becomes less socio-economically diverse. That's one of the things I like about El Cerrito, the socio-economic diversity.
