AHS Madrigal Matinee: Renaissance Frivolity for Kids and Families

The MADRIGAL MATINEE is an annual Renaissance-inspired luncheon with singing, dancing, and entertainment provided by the 93 students of the Albany High School Choirs.  The matinee performance is especially designed for elementary-school age children and includes a revelry session where young children have the opportunity to participate in:

  • storytelling
  • face-painting
  • juggling
  • visiting the King and Queen on the Royal Throne
  • interacting with beggars, sellers, and singers
There is a play featuring the Jester and the Royal Knights, as well as lots of great music!

Menu: appetizer vegetables with hummus dip, salad with persimmon slices, roasted root vegetables, roasted pork tenderloin (or vegetarian option available), and gingerbread cupcakes with whipped cream & lemon curd toppings.

See also our evening performances for general audiences.

Tickets: $12 for students, kids, and seniors; $17 general admission

These popular performances sell out every year.  Purchase at http://ahsmadrigal.brownpapertickets.com or from any choir student.  Be sure to choose the Saturday 11am performance.
