EVENING PERFORMANCES

The Thursday and Friday evening performances include dinner, caroling, lively choral music and funny skits. Eighty engaging high school students will wait on tables and entertain the audience while dressed in the style of medieval and Renaissance times.  The king and queen in all their finery will preside over the royal hall, laughing with the audience at the antics of the joke-telling court jester.   See Dorothy Brown's great photo gallery on the Patch from last year's performance.

Historical Context:
A traditional Madrigal Dinner is a form of dinner theater that recreates Renaissance feasts and gatherings held in 16th century England during the winter season. They are set in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and are generally comedic in nature. Guests lucky enough to be invited into the King's halls for these dinners were treated to delicious food, great revelry, delightful humorous skits, and wonderful madrigals, carols, and instrumental music.

These performances sell out every year.  Purchase tickets now at http://ahsmadrigal.brownpapertickets.com .
