Community Corner

Potluck with Purpose

Join other local people interested in developing resilient community at this monthly event (usually first Tuesdays). These potlucks are a project of local Transition towns (Albany, Berkeley and Kensington) and open to everyone. Great food, good company, challenging ideas, camaraderie - it beats sitting at home with the idiot box! The church kindly provides real plates and silverware and a dishwasher... all we need is the food...

Children are welcome and, due to the acoustics in the hall, quiet toys are preferred. We would like to have a better setup for children, but haven't found the volunteers for that yet.

Borrow books and DVDs on many aspects of transitioning to a less consumerist lifestyle, learn about what other people are doing, and bring something for the giveaway table if you like. Musicians would be particularly welcome!

Each potluck has a slightly different theme, so prepare to be intrigued and entertained. We ask $5 a family to cover hall rental.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
