Knights of Pythias, Lodge #162

The Order of Knights of Pythias is an international, non-sectarian fraternal order, established in 1864 in Washington, DC, by Justus H. Rathbone and was the first fraternal order to be chartered by an Act of Congress. It's aim was to heal the wounds after the civil war between the North and South and promote friendship among men and relieve suffering.  The distinguishing principles of our order are "FRIENDSHIP, CHARITY and BENEVOLENCE".  Today in addition to doing charitable work, we sponsor a variety of events and socials for members and guests.  We hold general meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month.  For more information and membership: Call (925) 631-0229 or Email: Herbleder_KOP@Yahoo.com.  Visit us on the Internet at: www.berkeleypythians.com.
"If fraternal love held all men bound, how beautiful this world would be."
