For this workshop children will participate in warm-up, technique and performance improv games. They will learn team building exercises, play improv games, and learn to think on their feet. This workshop is part of a program designed to build confidence and to learn to constructively direct creative thought.

Improv classes are integral for helping kids develop skills like self confidence, leadership and communication, public speaking, and team building. Students learn to use their imagination and creativity through fun improv games and exercises that teach building scenes and working together with other aspiring young performers in a non-competitive environment. Kids in all levels of acting and performing experience are encouraged to take improv classes.

Theatre games are about fun! The instructor will use theatre games and physical exercises to teach kids the basics of improvisation. Students will be encouraged to use their imaginations as they learn to create characters, build scenes and invent whole worlds without ever using a costume, prop or set piece. Students will also practice teamwork and listening skills to help them work as an ensemble and learn the discipline of performance.

About your instructor:
DAN FRIGOLETTE is a Stand-Up Comedian, who has appeared on The Artie Lange Show on DirectTV and been featured on the Chris Rock produced Totally Biased with W. Kamua Bell on FX in 2013.  In 2012 he achieved a comedy career pinnacle when he first headlined the famous Caroline's on Broadway. The creator of the Hoboken Comedy Festival which celebrated its 4th successful year in 2013 helps to: spread comedy into Sinatra's place of birth, support local charities, and expand the careers of burgeoning comedians; Frigolette loves honoring the town where he currently resides. Frigolette is also the Executive Producer of two comedic short film series' for a $1B Real Estate Company in Manhattan. He is a heavily trusted name in the comedy community.

Frigolette has run numerous improv comedy classes all throughout the Northeast for children from the ages of 4 all the way up to 17. His philosophy is that comedy in children is organic and silliness should be captured and encouraged. "It is far more difficult to find humor in adult improvisation and you have to focus on the funny, with kids, the silliness of their imagination is enough to be completely hilarious right off the bat" says Frigolette.
