Hands Across the Sand

WHAT: Local "Hands Across the Sand" gathering in solidarity with events around the country to raise awareness about the dangers of offshore drilling and call on leaders to end our oil dependence and move America into a clean energy future. At noon, participants will join hands for 15 minutes to form a line along the beach/ shoreline.

 

WHO:  First, (at 11am) Zach Pine, Environmental Artist, will lead the group in discovering the wonder of making sand globes!  (You can find examples of Zach’s Art in Nature work here: http://www.naturesculpture.com/)

WHEN: Saturday, June 25 at 11:00 noon, for Zach’s pre-event, sand globe making workshop, followed by saying YES to Clean Energy by joining HANDS for minutes beginning at 12 Noon!

WHERE: Albany Beach, Albany, CA

Directions to Albany Beach:

 

From San Francisco:

1. Go east on the Oakland Bay Bridge and follow Highway 80 to Berkeley/Sacramento

2. Take the Buchanan Exit in Albany (from Highway 80)

3. Go left on Buchanan, and take Buchanan west to the end of the road. There's a parking lot at the end of the road. From the lot, follow the path heading west toward the beach.

 

From San Rafael:

 

1. Take the Richmond Bridge to I-580 west.

2. Take the Albany/Buchanan Exit from the left lane (this is before 580 merges with I-80)

3. Turn right on Buchanan to the end of the road.

 

Show up promptly at 11am and Zach Pine will teach us how to make a sand globe! He says it takes only 5 minutes to do that. And of course at noon, we will join hands to say YES to clean energy.
