Tilden Park Broom Bash

Join Friends of Five Creeks removing invasive, fire-prone broom in the area of Tilden Regional Park's 100-year-old merry-go-round and Lake Anza.

Meet at Orchard Picnic Area, Lake Anza Road at Brook Road, just off Central Park Drive, near the merry-go-round. We'll supply snacks, water, tools, and gloves, and treat volunteers to a ride on the carousel!

Bring a picnic lunch or buy it at the snack bar, and enjoy a swim afterwards at Lake Anza, too!

Wear closed-toed shoes with good traction, and long pants and sleeves -- there is poison oak in the area. To get there, from Central Park Drive in Tilden Park turn onto Lake Anza Road and then promptly left onto Brook Road -- the picnic area is near the top of Brook Road on your right. Download the map athttp://www.ebparks.org/parks/tilden#trailmap. There is no cell-phone service in Tilden! Easy walk from AC Transit 67 stop at the Carousel.
