Claire Greensfelder, a Berkeley resident, has been active in the three UN global conferences on the Environment and Development beginning in 1992, and at the just-concluded Rio+20 Conference.

Andy Katz is an environmental activist/planner from Berkeley, a specialist on water conservation, air quality, and public health matters. He is a clean air attorney, and currently serves as Vice President and a Director of EBMUD. Katz is on the Executive Committee of the Sierra Club and a former Chair of Sierra Club California.

These two speakers are well-suited to assess this important Conference, its achievements and unmet gaps in plans and target-setting to meet global needs. Their analysis will encompass how governments, other institutions and organizations can potentially deal more effectively with international priorities such as food security and sustainable agriculture, water, jobs, energy, sustainable cities, oceans and disaster readiness.
