Albany Father Helps Bring Health and Education Programs to Southeast Asia

The East Meets West Foundation, run by Albany's John Anner, received a Gates Foundation grant to fund sanitation programs in Vietnam and Cambodia.

East Meets West Foundation, an international development agency in Oakland headed by Albany resident and parent John Anner, was recently awarded a grant of nearly $11 million by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to improve sanitation and health services in Southeast Asia.

Congratulations to John and to East Meets West. We have been regular contributors to EMW for a least 5 years, and are very impressed with their programs in Vietnam. The one that first got my attention was Healthy Hearts - a program focused on repairing congential heart defects in children.
