No Need For Gun Control - Arm the Teachers, Armor the Kids, Rush the Shooter

Sadly it seems the only way to stop the Gun violence in our schools is to place armed Guards in every classroom in the nation. This would not stop any person who is determine enough with a gun to shoot at a group of people to cause death and destruction. We can just look at the history of mass shootings in The United States to see if a person who has access to a gun wants to do what happen in Conn will do it. The second amendment is a basic right all law abiding citizens should have to protect their property, family, and lives from Individuals, groups, or dangerous governments. The Founding Fore Fathers saw this wanted Americas to have this right in Constitution. But at the same time gun control is needed to stop certain weapons from getting into the hands of criminals, and people who might use the weapons in a mass shooing. Not every american needs M-16, Ak-47, or Atomic Machine Gun to Protect themselves. Only the Military should have these weapons, there not needed for self-defense at the home. A total gun ban would not work in the United States only because a illegal Black market would be created and average person would not be able to defend themselves at Home.

J M - I haven't heard a call for a total gun ban. Background checks are a good idea, but some forty percent of gun sales are private or at gun shows, with no requirement for background checks. This is the result of the NRA-sponsored 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act. Only a tiny fraction of citizens favor that sort of deregulation, but the NRA's application of high-pressure single-issue advocacy has distorted the public will.

Jumping on board enhanced gun control is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. In the 60s I grew up n a ranching town and every boy in school drove to school with a rifle in the gun rack on their truck. No one in school was in danger.
Mass killings are an outward indication of far deeper social problems than the availability of firearms. Lets spend mental and financial resources on solutions that work

Correct in that there is too much violence in the Media today. But people do have a choice in not feeding there family's mind with all the crap being feed to them as entertainment.
