Save-A-Life Saturday will teach you, your loved ones, and your community crucial, lifesaving disaster preparedness and response skills. The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area Community School is seeking applications from young men of color to join their newly founded STEM focused male academy. The mission of the school is to prepare African-American boys to be leaders in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area Community School will open in the fall of 2012 and be free to those who are accepted. The inaugural grades being taught will be K, 1, 4, 5, and 6.

You are invited to Oakland's Cambodian New Year Festival and official opening of the exhibit Rhythm of the Refugee: A Cambodian Journey of Healing at The Peralta Hacienda Historical Park, 2465 34th Avenue, Oakland on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10 AM – 3 PM.
