AC Transit's Hydrogen Fuel Cell Buses

If you ride the bus often, check out this article! Concerned about stinky buses? There's no need to fear, hydrogen buses are here!

Have you noticed the recent light green roof of some of the buses around Albany? Those are AC Transit’s new zero-emission fuel cell buses, currently running on lines 21, 73, 98, 18, 51B and more to come.

We need more of these in the Bay Area because guess what? The only thing coming out of these buses is water vapor. That’s right, just water vapor. No smoke, oil drips or smog, meaning that we have cleaner air and a more beautiful town. This is a non-toxic fuel efficient means of public transportation, and I have to tell you that I'm really excited and proud to ride these buses.

Check out the link here for more in-depth information on what this is, how a fuel cell works, and what the environmental benefits are. Also, please like the "City of Albany, CA Transportation and Sustainability Division" Facebook page here
