I'm so tired of hearing about the bulb.

Is it just me or is anyone else tired of hearing about the homeless of the bulb?

There are so many parts to this issue.  First and foremost I blame our city for allowing it.  Once they clear it out they should have never allowed them to reoccupy. The City of Albany was just plain stupid to not comply with the law. They had to know it was going to bite them in the ass. Now they are force to make up some form of housing. Had they not allowed them to move back in then I'm guessing this wouldn't have been an issue. Shame on Albany.
Second: for the ones out there that were born with some form of disability I feel for you. However there are services for you. If you can't make the choice for a better life then let us make it for you.  Four walls, bed, food, running water, meds and counseling.
Third: For the ones that now have some form of disability because you made the choice of using drugs I have little sympathy for you.  I don't think the city of Albany should bend over backwards for them.  The city should NOT be coming to them.  They  should be required to enroll and participate in a mandated Alcohol & Drug Program along with counseling before any commitment  of housing is made to them.
If it would be up to me. They would be given three choices.  Move on your own,  don't move and will be taken in for trespassing, or go to the shelter in Berkeley or Richmond.  (Partner with the shelters and if 'bulb resident'come then they city will pay $25.00 per night up to 30 days. They have to stay there the whole time if they skip a night they are no longer former resident of Albany and the contract is broken. This will only work if A) the City of Albany will allow the Police to do their job and stop telling them to turn the other way when it comes to the bulb.
I don't want to hear crap about the dogs.  Call Jill with paw fund or the city of Berkeley Animal Shelter but, if you can't take care of an animal and seeing you can't take care of your self then they really shouldn't have one. PERIOD!

The other choice is since the city of Albany FUC* UP with not complying with the letter of the law  it looks like they are going to have to make some form of BS shelter for them. Until then and even afterwards they can have the police put the heat on the homeless living out there. Albany police should make more visits and if any laws are being broken-- ticket them, arrest if you can and just make it so that they won't want to come back.  You can't tell me that a train officer would not be able to fine them. They are not the brightest people in Albany.   Bring /rent the drug sniffing dogs I bet you will fine meth at most of the camps. Cite them for shopping carts, and for any and all laws that are being broken they should ticketed.
Albany is so concern with being PC that they have really cause this on there own.  If the people that run the city don't have the balls to do what is best for Albany then step aside. Wasting city money on people that don't deserve it really is a piss in the bucket.  Without proper help AOD/On going counseling then the city is not really 'helping' them they are covering their ass.  But I'm sure it looks good on paper.  I'm sure people all around the world are saying 'That city of Albany,CA they really are doing the right thing.  They give non deserving people services that they didn't want or earn. Wake up Albany!
