Photos: The Bulb, Repaired

Went out to the Bulb a week ago, These photos are from Sunday June 8 2014- one of those rare days- it was WARM out there, light breeze- so nice... delayed uploading this due to the sad loss of your Mayor the same day- I will mention here one more great thing to add to her list of accomplishments, she helped give the Bulb back to everyone- and really got it cleaned up, it is amazing how little trash is left. I really appreciate it- It was AMAZING the difference in experience visiting the reclaimed Bulb- Granted, the warm weather and low wind helped- But the lady and I noticed right away - it was Quiet. so quiet.. to sound like a hippy for a moment, the "energy" of the whole Bulb is returned to nature- all the campers, their dogs, the bicycles and trailers in and out all the time -gone- Hard to explain properly, but the campers constant presence had a bad feeling to it- they didnt jsut camp quietly in the bushes, they were always out and about biking here or there, and when you Know most of their travels involve speed, getting money for speed, stealing, etc... Their presence and activity gave the Bulb a bad "energy" to again sound like a hippy./. REally, before- it was no different from going into any high-crie ba neighborhood. you went ot the Bulb and felt Unsafe. Now it feels wonderful. Peaceful, quiet...  Some people dont mind only using the main trails, but for once i could use the side trails and not worry about what dog or person would confront me next- there are no more "beware of dog" signs keeping me from exploring the south side of the Bulb.. The City did a stellar job of removing the camps. The photos have their own captions but i will point out that Nearly every camp i saw, all that was left was flat clear earth. It is as if the 3-story shack never existed. Literally two stray tote bags. There are several small debris piles, sticks/ rocks that were pushed around. The only camper-construction i saw remaining was at what was Amber's camp- they had dug into the dirt, built a brick platform, and then created large walls with dirt and debris under a large tree my guess is the City decided not to take the tree down to flatten it.. I hate ot think the Palms will be removed, I know little about which plants are native but i do know the many Eucalyptus trees will have to come out. There's a large Rose bush out there as well- if you have a place for it I'd suggest og out there and grab it before the City destroys it... Again, i don't know much about what is native but i do see a WIDE variety of plants out there so i would expect to see the Park system eventually take out quite a bit of vegetation unfortunately. Statues all looked like they were doing just fine.. Finally, the Bulb is ours again.
