Albany Triathlon Draws Spirited Crowd of Athletes

Athletes were gathered around the Albany Pool before dawn this morning preparing for the annual Albany Triathlon.  Promptly on time the first swimming heat began and the excitement grew.  Spectators gathered at the pool and around the entire block to cheer on the participants. 

Thank you to the organizing committee, especially Steve Trutane, and the sponsors and especially the Albany High School athletes who helped in their specific area.  The triathlon has become an Albany tradition supporting fitness for all ages and raising much needed funds for the high school sports programs.

The Albany Triathlon is sponsored by the Albany Lions Club, the Albany Community Foundation, REI, Blue Heron Bikes, Albany Ford/Suburu and Transports.
