The Albany Education Foundation and the Albany Community Foundation are once again joining forces to host the Chocolate and Champagne Gala on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 from 7:30-10:30 p.m. This special evening will include champagne, wine and beer, chocolate and non-chocolate desserts and savory treats. The Night Owls, who delighted attendees last year, will perform again this year. Many delightful offerings are available at the silent auction, including some suitable for last minute Valentine's Day gifts.
Tickets are $25, which includes a complimentary glass of champagne and desserts. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. I have tickets and will be happy to deliver them to you. You can send an email to acf@albanycommunityfoundation.org for tickets.
This is the main fundraiser for these two wonderful organizations who do so much for the Albany community. AEF provides grants for AUSD new teachers to assist them in setting up their classrooms, field trip grants, and mini grants as well as the Sally Outis block grants for larger projects. We recently purchased a bassoon for the AHS music program.

The ACF supports community projects such as Dinner with Albany, the Albany FilmFest, Albany Reads, the Mercy Brown Bag Program, the AUSD mental health program. We have donated both bike racks and planters for the Albany Community Center. In the spring we will be collaborating with the AUSD music program to present an outdoor concert.
