2 Teens Charged in Shooting of AHS Teens on BART Path

Two teens from San Pablo, one 17 and one 19, have been charged with attempted murder and robbery in the Jan. 23 shooting of two Albany High School students on the BART path in El Cerrito, the Oakland Tribune reports.

Two San Pablo teenagers have been charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of attempted armed robbery in the Jan. 23 shooting of two students from Albany High School on the BART path near El Cerrito library, the Oakland Tribune reported today, Tuesday.

Willie Lee Levi Jr., 19, was charged last week by the Contra Costa County District Attorney's office, and a 17-year-old teen, who had been on probation was charged earlier this month, the paper said. A police search of the latter suspect's home found an assault rifle and ammunition at his home, the paper said.

One of the Albany students was critically injured but is recovering, while the other received a flesh wound on his face. A third Albany student was with them but escaped uninjured.

The three Albany youths – one freshman and two sophomores – were sitting along the path, also called the Ohlone Greenway, near the El Cerrito Library and Fairmont Elementary School shortly before 2 p.m. when two males in hoodies accosted them about their shoes, authorities said at the time.
