Albany Man Charged With Sex With 14-Year-Old

Eric Lee Martin was arrested on Nov. 2 by the Albany Police Department. Police said they are not actively looking for other victims in connection with the investigation.

An Albany man charged last week with statutory rape was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning. 

As of Thursday afternoon, the district attorney's office did not have an update on the outcome of the man's pre-trial hearing, which had been scheduled for 9:05 a.m. in the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in downtown Oakland.

According to the , on Oct. 28, officers received a report that an adult male had sex on Oct. 14 with a 14-year-old girl in Albany, said Lt. Dan Adams.

Detectives identified the man as Eric Lee Martin, 27, of Albany, and obtained a warrant for his arrest on Nov. 1.

Officers stopped Martin at San Pablo and Washington avenues on Nov. 2 to arrest him in connection with the warrant.

Martin was arraigned Nov. 4 on a single charge of statutory rape. 

Adams said police are not actively looking for other victims in connection with the investigation.

Martin is being held at Santa Rita Jail with a bail of $25,000, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.

According to the sheriff's department, Martin has also gone by the name "Eric Denies."
