Police Calls: Lewd Man on San Pablo, Lost Dogs Reunited, Teens "Vomiting and Hitting," Police Valet?

8:18 p.m. A man wearing dark pants and a white long-sleeved shirt, who possibly had a crew cut, tried to use a fake $100 at .

8:33 p.m. Police arrested Brandon Allan Mercer, of Berkeley, on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and a probation violation; and a transient individual, on suspicion of possessing narcotics, at  during an officer-initiated bicycle traffic stop.

10:10 p.m. Someone reported four to five teens in a car on Neilson Street "vomiting and hitting each other." Log note only.

DEC. 6

12:51 p.m. Someone smashed a car window at the .

1:36 p.m. Someone had siphoned gas two nights earlier out of a vehicle parked on Tulare Avenue.

5:48 p.m. Police responded to a business in the 600 block of San Pablo Avenue for a report of a man who had been "indecently touching himself, while clothed, in view of other people" two hours earlier. The man was kicked out of the business and was not around when the report was made. Police identified the man as a 26-year-old from Oakland, and declined to release his name or the name of the business, citing the ongoing investigation. Police said they did not believe this incident was related to lewd conduct reports in  or .

6:09 p.m. Two packages worth more than $950 were  in the 800 block of Curtis Street.

6:33 p.m. Three women, 20-40 years old, stole baby formula and other items from  on Solano Avenue. They left westbound in a Buick.

DEC. 7

9:35 a.m. Someone stole change from a vehicle parked on Carmel Avenue during the night.

9:45 a.m. Police took a case report at  for an offense listed only as a "juvenile problem."

11:53 a.m. A student at Albany High was found to be in possession of stolen property.

6:22 p.m. Someone reported following an elderly man in an electric wheelchair down the street at Key Route Boulevard and Brighton Avenue; the man appeared lost and confused. Miscellaneous public service provided.

DEC. 8

1:12 a.m. Police arrested Tiffany Nicole Tidwell of Berkeley on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 800 block of Kains Avenue. She was taken to the Glenn E. Dyer Detention Facility in downtown Oakland.

12:26 p.m. Someone reported two missing 10-pound dogs—a male brown mix, and a female terrier mix with white spots—on Solano Avenue. Someone in Berkeley found the dogs and brought them to the Albany Police Department, where they were reunited with their owner.

1 p.m. Someone reported about 30 Albany High students who appeared to be freshman; they "looked like they were going to fight." Unable to locate source of complaint.

2:08 p.m. A vehicle was stolen out of a driveway in the 1000 block of Kains; it was last seen at 10 a.m. The caller said "her mechanic definitely did not come and take the vehicle."

2:19 p.m. A 45-year-old woman wearing a purple, white and black jacket showed up at Sizzler wanting the free salad bar. She claimed "she was in yesterday and took steak home." 

11:24 p.m. Police arrested Roldao Brito Freitas of Richmond on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 700 block of San Pablo Avenue. He was taken to Glenn Dyer jail. 

DEC. 9

8:21 a.m. A woman at the westbound Interstate 80 on-ramp said her car was hit by a brick. 

12:45 p.m. A gray-bearded man on Evelyn Avenue, in his 70s or 80s and wearing a baseball hat and jean jacket, was said to be "throwing grass at dogs in the yard" and "exhibiting strange behavior." 

1:42 p.m. A man reported being bitten by a dog at Solano and Talbot avenues.

4:02 p.m. Someone reported two "large dogs muzzled" inside a vehicle on Kains "barking and throwing themselves against the windows."

4:20 p.m. Someone reported "another homeless subject" setting up camp at Key Route Boulevard and Washington Avenue. 

6:56 p.m. A woman at the  smashed a glass at someone's feet, then tried to take a swing at that person. 

9:28 p.m. Someone on Ordway Street reported trash had been thrown at his or her residence. 

DEC. 10

6:51 a.m. A vehicle was stolen from University Village.

2:21 p.m. A woman on Pierce Street called to report that her boyfriend had been hitting her.

3:58 p.m. Someone busted out the rear window of a vehicle in the  parking lot. 

6:44 p.m. Someone reported a man at Sizzler looking inside vehicles.

7:19 p.m. A man on Kains called police to say he could not park his car "because the other vehicles are too close." He asked if police could park his vehicle for him. 

DEC. 11

12:32 p.m. Police arrested a 14-year-old from Richmond who walked out of Target with merchandise that had not been paid for. He was released at the scene with a notice to appear in court. 

2:46 p.m. A Vallejo man taking pictures on Albany Hill was . The robber was described as a black man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build, wearing a green plaid shirt. The robber escaped in a northbound get-away car.

7:41 p.m. Someone smashed a car window and stole a hiking backpack from a vehicle parked at

8:04 p.m. Police attempted to serve a warrant on Curtis Street.

10:04 p.m. A woman at Safeway with a large brown handbag was said to be "stuffing it full of liquor."

DEC. 12

9:44 a.m. Police responded to Albany High for a "juvenile problem" and took a case report. 

11:44 a.m. Someone used keys to enter a home in the 800 block of Kains while a resident was in the bathroom. The resident said "Excuse me" to the intruder, who "took off." 

12:36 p.m. Police took a case report at Albany High in connection with a juvenile in possession of stolen property.

DEC. 13

9:51 a.m. Albany Police responded to an accident on westbound Interstate 80 where one person reported chest pain and was taken to the hospital.

2:49 p.m. Someone at Gateview apartments on Pierce Street requested that police issue a ticket to a limo in the yellow zone near the building entrance. 

3:59 p.m. Someone on Jackston Street said her back sliding door and back gate had been opened, and her dog was gone. 

4:15 p.m. Police arrested Damon Powell of Berkeley on suspicion of shoplifting at Target. 

4:42 p.m. Police recovered a vehicle in the 700 block of Washington Avenue; it had been reported stolen out of San Pablo on Dec. 9. 

5:57 p.m. Someone reported a hit-and-run in the 800 block of Carmel Avenue. It was carried out by a driver in his 40s wearing a "furry hat" and driving a small, white and red older-model pick-up truck.

6:17 p.m. Three people were  on the Ohlone Greenway near Albany Middle School.

DEC. 14

3:45 a.m. A woman on Brighton, in her 50s and wearing beige pants, was said to be breaking apartment windows and causing a disturbance. She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
