El Cerrito Power Outage Felt in Albany

Several Albany residents let us know about power outages affecting their homes Tuesday afternoon. 

Residents also reported outages on Solano Avenue. 

PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said the outage was related to an incident in El Cerrito that left more than 4,000 people without power. (Service was restored to all customers by 4:30 p.m., she said)

Sarkissian said the cause of the outage remains under investigation. More information could be available this evening.

"PG&E apologizes to our customers for the inconvenience," she said. "We understand it's difficult to go without power, and we try to restore power as quickly as possible."

Residents on Peralta Avenue and Ordway Street in Albany told us they were affected.

The said several callers had reported outages impacting the traffic signals at the intersections of Marin and Santa Fe avenues and Santa Fe and Peralta.

A reader who lives near Terrace Park said PG&E told him power would be restored by 6 p.m., but that it was back on by 4:30 p.m. 

According to PG&E's outage map, there were two outages in Albany, which affected up to 50 people.
