An Albany man accused of committing sexual offenses against minors briefly appeared in court today and is scheduled to return on Oct. 29 for further pretrial hearing.
Raymond Anderson, who was charged earlier this year with six counts of molestation related to twin girls who lived with him in the 90s, is scheduled for a 9 a.m. pretrial hearing at the Rene C. Davidson Courthouse in downtown Oakland, Deptartment 11.
According to the Alameda County Sheriff's Department, Anderson's attorney has filed a motion to set aside information related to Anderson's case. Anderson has been in custody since his arrest earlier in February.
In June, a judge ruled that the case against Anderson could move forward to trial following the testimony of police officers and both alleged victims.
His bail amount was reduced from 500K to 100K some months ago but the friends who so vociferously defended him last year seem to have all but disappeared and no one has posted bail on his behalf. (I'm still waiting for a group apology from the Lions.) You can keep up with his case by going to the Alameda County Inmate Locator: http://www.acgov.org/sheriff_app/ and entering his PFN of APR999. No need to enter his name, his PFN is sufficient.
